Bronkar Lee’s performance career began the day he was born. He’s always had the desire to be on stage -- especially in classrooms and more “inappropriate” venues, according to his mother and teachers.

When introduced to the drums around age twelve, it was love at first touch. After years of performing in clubs, restaurants, and theaters as a drummer, Bronkar realized he needed something more. He grabbed a hold of the microphone and became a front man, an emcee, finding he could really extend and connect with audiences on a more intimate level.

A few years later he put aside all of the musical instruments including his own voice, and entered the world of physical theater/performance at The San Francisco Circus Center. There he learned to use his body to perform with movement instead of sound, realizing he could express things he could never convey through an instrument.

Immediately after completing training at the Circus Center, Bronkar took a contract touring Europe with Circus Monti. For his role in the production, he used a combination of all the skills he had been developing over the years -- vocal percussion (musical skills), non-verbal gestures (physical theater skills), and audience interaction (front man skills). By combining these elements he created a character known as “The Rhythmic Conductor”. After a year on the road -- 51 cities and over 300 shows -- he decided to make this his profession.

Since then Bronkar has been establishing his roots in the San Francisco Bay Area performing with groups such as Velocity Circus, Earth Circus and Circus Bella, as well as on his own as an actor, drummer and juggler in his show "Circus of Sound." He's performed at such venues as the Palace of Fine Arts, the De Young Museum, Pier 39, the San Francisco Playhouse, the Julia Morgan Theater, the Metreon, the Supper Club, and many more.
